The use of high-finned tubing significantly enhances the effect of heat transfer between external (air) and internal fluids. Basic tube is made of copper, brass, aluminium or steel, with aluminium and/or copper fins.
FEMOD manufactures several types of finned tubing for various applications, if required for heavy-duty operation as well. Such tubes are used for production of all types of air radiators, condensers, gas coolers, drying units, etc.
Apart from their exceptional technical characteristics, application of finned tubing significantly reduces investments in water supply equipment, filtration, as well as water preparation and return into natural waterflows.
Tipes of finned tubing
Type "L"
Working temperature up to 120° C,
Temperature oscillation up to 60° C,
Temperature oscillations cause no deformation of fin shape which remain in firm contact with the basic tube;
Fin stands/feet protect the tube from corrosion.
Type "LL "
Working temperature up to 150° C,
Temperature oscillation up to 60° C,
Temperature oscillations cause no deformation of either fin or fin feet shapes;
During temperature oscillations fins remain in firm contact with the basic tube, which provides constant high oefficient of heat exchange;
Fin stands/feet protect the tube from corrosion;
This type of finning replaces bimetal finned tube with extruded fins.
Type "KL"
Working temperature up to 180° C ,
Temperature oscillation up to 100° C
Fins feet in the shape of letter “L” are imbedded in grooves of the basic tube. Imbedded fin feet have no tendency of deformation and demonstrate perfect protection of basic tube from corrosion.
Wide temperature oscillations are tolerated providing constant high coefficient of heat exchange.
During high temperature oscillations fins remain in firm contact with the basic tube, thus eliminating occurence of elastic fin deformation and contact weakening;
Type "G"
Working temperature up to 350°C,
Fins are imbedded in the basic tube.
Imbedding technology ensures compact, homogenous and firm contact with the basic tube, which considerably reduces resistance during heat exchange from tube to fins;

Ordering information:
Enquiries for quotation and delivery of finned tubing should contain the following information :
Basic tube temper, standard of production and sizes;
Finning material: Al or Cu (aluminium or copper);
Geometry, i.e. type of finning: “L”, “LL”, “KL” or “G”, fin height and number of fins per meter or inch;
Number of finned tubes pieces;
Eventually, drawing of finned tubing showing working pressure and temperature, end use, required corrosion resistance, sizes of non-finned parts of tube, and bending radius if bent tubes are required.
Finned tubing with distant rings
All types of finned tubes can be delivered with distant rings made of zinc or aluminium, firmly holding bundled finned tubes in a heat exchanger at projected layout.
Distant rings enable swift and easy mounting of finned tubing, and ordering information should contain axial distance of tubes in a bundle, their layout and tubes support spots, (in-line or “chess-like” layout).
